Neimann, John Take Early Lead at Junior Invitational

Tee Times Announced for Round Two

GRANITEVILLE, S.C. (April 20, 2017) – Joaquin Neimann of Chile and Australia’s Cameron John have taken the early lead at this week’s Junior Invitational, both finishing the tournament’s first round at 5 under.

Neimann is making his third appearance at the Junior Invitational after a banner 2016 season during which he scored six wins including the IMG Junior World Championship and the Toyota Junior World Cup. He presently is ranked No. 2 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). John is playing in his first Junior Invitational. A member of the 2016 Golf Australia National squad, John won the 2016 Carrick Neil Scottish Strokeplay, breaking the amateur course record at Gullane with a sizzling 63.

About the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club

Since 2011, the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club has been recognized as the most competitive junior golf event in the world. The game’s top 54 players are invited to participate in a professionally styled event, where they have the opportunity to meet sponsors and NCAA coaches, while playing one of the country’s most exciting courses. The generous support of tournament sponsors allows players to attend at no personal cost for travel or accommodations, and has raised nearly $1.5 million for the First Tee chapters in Aiken and Augusta.
