The 2022 Junior Invitational
Recognized by Golfweek as the #1 junior event in golf, the Junior Invitational welcomed the very best golfers from around the world to Sage Valley Golf Club in Graniteville, South Carolina. Founded in 2011, it has become one of the most desired invitations in the world of competitive junior golf. The 2022 Junior Invitational was held March 17-19.

Leigh Chien
Hometown: Irvine, CA | Representing: United States
Chien is ranked No. 6 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 14 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. She recently won the 2022 Mariah Stackhouse Girls Invitational. In 2021, she won both the Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship and the Dye Junior Invitational. Chien is a two-time KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational Champion (2019, 2020).
Gianna Clemente
Hometown: Estero, Fla. | Representing: United States
Clemente is ranked No. 10 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 13 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. She captured the 2021 PING Invitational and became the youngest champion in the tournament’s history at 13. Clemente notched another 2021 victory with a 54-hole record at the AJGA Junior at Big Sky Golf Course.
Anna Davis
Hometown: Spring Valley, CA | Representing: United States
Davis holds the No. 3 ranking in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 6 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. Davis won both the 2021 Girls Junior PGA Championship and 2021 PING Heather Farr Classic. In January, she finished runner-up in the 2022 Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational and T2 in the 2022 Junior Orange Bowl Invitational.
Francesca Fiorellini
Hometown: Rome, Italy | Representing: Italy
Fiorellini sits at No. 39 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. She is both the Italian U18 National Champion and Italian Amateur Match Play Champion. Fiorellini recently won the 2022 Portuguese Internacional Ladies Amateur Championship and 2021 Internationaux de France U21 - Trophee Esmond.
Megha Ganne
Hometown: Holmdel, NJ | Representing: United States
Ganne currently sits at No. 13 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. She earned low-amateur honors (T14) at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open. Ganne has signed to continue her golf career at Stanford University.
Paris Hilinski
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA | Representing: United States
Hilinski’s recent top 10 finishes include the 2019 Dixie Amateur (fifth), the 2020 Sally (fourth), the 2020 ANNIKA Invitational USA presented by Rolex (third) and the 2020 PING Invitational (eighth). She also participated in the 2021 Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship (T51) and 2019 U.S. Women’s Open.
Sara Im
Hometown: Duluth, GA | Representing: United States
Im is ranked No. 20 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 29 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. She won the 2021 AJGA Carolina Trace Junior. She finished third in the 2021 Greenwood Junior Championship and second in the 2021 Scott Robertson Memorial. Im plans to attend Vanderbilt University upon graduation.
Jaclyn LaHa
Hometown: Pleasanton, CA | Representing: United States
LaHa is No. 16 in the in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and No. 18 in the American Junior Golf Association. She finished T2 at the 2021 PING Invitational. She plans to play golf at the University of Virginia upon graduation.
Jeong Hyun Lee
Hometown: South Korea | Representing: South Korea
Lee is No. 44 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Her most recent wins were the 2021 KB Financial Group Cup and the 2020 Korean Women’s Amateur – KangMinKoo Cup. In 2019 at 12 years old, Lee became the youngest golfer to win the Women’s Individual Championship at the Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship.
Maria Jose Marin Negrete
Hometown: Cali | Representing: Colombia
Negrete is No. 8 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. Negrete most recently won the 2022 Junior Orange Bowl Invitational. She finished runner-up in the 2021 Women’s Amateur Latin America Championship. Negrete has notched 12 worldwide wins in the last two years.
Amalie Leth-Nissen
Hometown: Copenhagen | Representing: Denmark
Leth-Nissen is No. 24 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. She most recently captured the 2021 European Ladies’ Club Trophy and the 2021 DGU Elite Tour III Damer & Piger. Leth-Nissen also helped lead Team Europe to victory in the 2021 PING Junior Solheim Cup.
Katie Li
Hometown: Baskin Ridge, NJ | Representing: United States
She captured first at the 2021 K.J. Choi Foundation Junior Championship. She also notched top ten finishes at the 2021 U.S. Girls’ Junior (T3), the 2021 Polo Golf Liberty Classic (second), the 2021 Scott Robertson Memorial (T4) and the 2021 Sung Hyun Park Junior Championship (second). Li intends to attend Duke University.
Ava Merrill
Hometown: John's Creek, GA | Representing: United States
Merrill is ranked No. 21 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 33 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. She won the 2021 Rome Junior Classic presented by Piedmont Bank. Also in 2021, she finished T3 at the Sung Hyun Park Junior Championship and T7 at The PING Invitational. Merill has verbally committed to Stanford University upon her graduation in 2023.
Alexa Pano
Hometown: Lakeworth, FL | Representing: United States
Pano is ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and No. 2 in the American Junior Golf Association. She was the runner-up in the 2021 Rolex Tournament of Champions. Pano was the youngest player to compete in the inaugural 2019 Augusta National Women’s Amateur at 14 years old.
Avani Prashanth
Hometown: Bangalore | Representing: India
India’s No. 1 player, Prashanth recently won the All India Ladies and Amateur (Stroke Play and Match Play) tournaments and the All India Junior Girls. She represented India at the 2021 Women’s Amateur Asia Pacific. Prashanth is a two-time Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour winner.
Jacqueline Putrino
Hometown: Lakewood Ranch, FL | Representing: United States
Putrino is No. 5 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. She is the 2021 Dustin Johnson World Junior Champion. Putrino has committed to continue her collegiate career at Florida State in the fall.
Catherine Rao

Rao is No. 22 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and No. 26 in the American Junior Golf Association. She was a member of both the 2021 PING Junior Solheim Cup U.S. Team and the 2021 Wyndham Cup West Team. Rao intends to attend Princeton University.
Kiara Romero

Romero is No. 7 in both the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and the American Junior Golf Association. She is the 2021 Polo Golf Junior Classic Champion. She finished runner-up in the 2021 Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship. Romero plans to attend the University of Oregon.
Kaitlyn Shroeder

Shroeder is No. 4 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. She was a 2021 US Girls' Junior Quarterfinalist. Shannon Tan

Tan won back-to-back EFG Singapore Junior Masters in 2020 and 2021. She also won the 2021 Singapore Junior Masters Spring Tournament. Tan has signed a letter of intent to attend Texas Tech University.
Kelly Xu

Xu is No. 10 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and No. 13 in the American Junior Golf Association. She won the 2021 Under Armour® / Alison Lee Championship. Xu has signed to continue her golf career at Stanford University.
Yunxuan (Michelle) Zhang
Hometown: Plano, TX | Representing: United States
Zhang is No. 11 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and No. 17 in the American Junior Golf Association. She won the Sergio and Angela Garcia Foundation Junior Championship in 2021 and the Under Armour ® / Jordan Spieth Championship in 2020. Zhang signed a Letter of Intent to join Southern Methodist University women’s golf team.
Avery Zweig
Hometown: McKinney, TX | Representing: United States
Zweig is No. 14 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 20 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. She successfully qualified for five USGA events before turning 14 years old. She won the 2021 Diamond Resorts ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex. Zweig recently finished third in the 2022 Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational.

Appel is No. 12 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. Jack Bigham

Bigham won the 2021 R&A Boys Amateur Championship. He also finished fifth in the 2021 English Men’s Amateur Championship. Bigham has signed to play collegiately at Florida State University.
Mahanth Chirravuri

Chirravuri is ranked No. 5 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 5 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. He is the 2022 AJGA Simplify Boys Champion. Chirravuri has signed a Letter of Intent to join the University of Southern California men’s golf team.
Daniel Choi

Choi is No. 49 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. He won the 2019 AJGA College Station Junior All-Star. He finished third in the 2021 K.J. Choi Foundation Junior Championship. Choi will play collegiately at Duke University in the fall.

Florioli captured the 2021 Italian Amateur Stroke Play Championship - Franco Bevione Trophy. He has 21 top 10 finishes in the last two years, including his performances at the 2021 European Young Masters (sixth), the 2021 Italian Team Qualifying tournament (fifth) and the 2021 German Boys Open (10th). Ethan Gao

Jonathan Griz

Appearances in the Junior Invitational: Third (2019, 2020, 2022). Jonathan is No. 5 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and No. 8 in the American Junior Golf Association. Griz is the 2020 North and South Junior Champion and the 2020 South Carolina Champion. He has signed a Letter of Intent to join the University of Alabama men’s golf team.
Nicholas Gross

Gross is ranked No. 12 in the American Junior Golf Association. Gross finished second at the 2022 AJGA Simplify Boys Championship. He recently captured the 2021 AJGA Junior All-Star Invitational, and he finished runner-up at the 2021 TaylorMade TP5 Junior All-Star. Jean-Phillippe Parr

Parr is No. 41 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. Parr won the 2021 Canadian Junior Boys Championship. He finished in third at the 2021 Junior Orange Bowl International. Parr plans on attending the University of Tennessee following graduation.
Virgilio Paz

Paz finished in 15th at the 2022 Latin American Amateur Championship. He notably won the 2021 3rd Abierto Sambil Juvenil. Paz will continue his golf career at the University of New Mexico.

Pikulthong is No. 15 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 16 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. He most recently won the 2021 PING Heather Farr Classic. Luke Potter

Pounds is No. 9 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and No. 22 in the American Junior Golf Association. He is the 2021 Texas Junior Amateur Champion. Nicholas Prieto

Prieto is No. 28 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 59 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. Sandhu is No. 25 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 42 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. He is the 2020 AJGA Junior Open Champion. Sandhu’s 2021 top 10 finishes include the Wyndham Invitational presented by Truist (T4), Team TaylorMade Invitational (T5), Scott Robertson Memorial (third) and the Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship (T6). Harley Smith

Smith won the 2021 English Boys’ Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship. He finished in third at the 2022 Junior Orange Bowl International. He also finished fourth in the 2021 Irish Men’s Amateur Open and ninth in The 2021 Amateur Championship.

Sosa is No. 9 in the American Junior Golf Association and No. 19 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. Matthew Troutman

He is the 2021 Justin Thomas Junior Champion and the Kentucky Boys’ Golf Individual High School State Champion.
